6 Tips for a Vibrant Bathroom Makeover this Spring
Dirty toilets. Germy showers. Disorganized cabinets. When was the last time you did some major cleaning in your bathroom?
Clearly, most people overlook the bathroom’s sanitation. Since spring is just around the corner, it’s high time for you to do some cleaning and do a bathroom makeover. A bit of organizing and cleanup will have your bathroom uncluttered and sparkly in no time.
Get rid of the old stuff. Sort through your stuff and pull out or throw anything that has already expired and unused. If you’re unsure of getting rid of some of your old toiletries, better throw them out. What’s the point of keeping all that clutter? Those things will just build up over time and will greatly increase the pile of waste in your bathroom. Follow this simple technique that has been tried and tested for years — when in doubt, throw it out.
Categorize everything. Once you’ve cleaned your space, arrange your stuff by category: face care, dental care, hair styling products, hair tools, shower supplies, lotions and powders, nail care, feminine supplies, and first aid. In this way, you’ll have neat and organized storage boxes and cabinets and you’ll absolutely keep clutter at bay.
Shine Surfaces and Floors. Have marble or stone surfaces at home? Re-seal them! As for vinyl or linoleum floors, strip or wax them. This may seem a bit daunting at first but its actually very easy to do. If this feels like a burden to you, call a pro. Do make sure to do this once a year else you’ll see long-term damages to your floors and surfaces that can’t be repaired by any amount of cleaning.
Do some Tiling. White tiles have a crisp, spotless, and clean property. If you have a set of white tiles in your bathroom, get creative with tile mosaics in different hues. Adding some colors would give life to your walls and floors. You could also experiment with bolder tiles or tiles with unique patterns and prints.
Add some colors and decorative accents. Once every nook and cranny has been cleaned, shined and organized, it’s now time to bring out those vibrant storage boxes and cabinets. Spring is a time for blooms and colors so why not add a pop of color to your bathroom and let in the spring vibe! Instead of the usual neutral tones, go for colored drawers and cabinets. Don’t forget to put in some decorative accents like faux colored plants to make your bathroom lively and to give it more personality.
FRAGRANCE is key. Scented candles and diffusers create a serene and calming effect in the bathroom. So, up the ante of your bathroom makeover by adding candles and diffusers in earthy scents. Choosing light and floral scents will help reduce the smell of bathroom chemicals.
Having a cluttered bathroom can be a breeding place for dirt and smell. So this springtime, liven up your bathroom for yourself and your guests. Here’s hoping these tips will help you get started on spring cleaning!
