5 Ways to Upgrade Your Swimming Pool
If you own a swimming pool, you’ve probably noticed that they become a natural gathering area for friends and family, especially during the summer. While swimming pools are great additions by themselves, there are certainly ways to make them more visually appealing and more fun to use.
A diving board is a classic add-on that almost everyone will recognize. While older diving boards may not have as much style, newer ones are available in an assortment of colors, sizes, and even shapes. These newer diving boards can mesh seamlessly with your natural landscape or shape of your pool. They’re also a great way for kids and adults to have fun. After all, there aren’t many things better than jumping into a cool pool on a hot, summer day.
Sports Equipment and Games
While these may not be as permanent as a diving board, sports equipment and pool games can be just as fun. Setting up a volleyball net or soccer goal in your pool will create a fun environment for exercise and play. Imagine the hours of fun you can have while playing with your friends and family in a nice, cool pool. There are a wide variety of pool games available for both in-ground and above-ground pools, so you’ll be sure to find something you and your family can enjoy.
There are so many different styles of water slides – from simple to extravagant, small to big, straight or corkscrew – that it can be difficult to make a decision. The best way to decide on which type of water slide to get is to look at your pool and your landscape. There are ways to install a water slide that makes it look like part of the natural landscape, such as building rocks and boulders around it to make it look like a mountain. Or you can have a simple slide attached to the ground or deck. Always be sure your pool is deep enough to safely accommodate a water slide.
A home splash pad is great for children and pets alike. There are smaller, less expensive models that hook up to a garden hose or you can have one professionally installed that hooks up to your house’s plumbing. Either way, splash pads are a great addition to swimming pools since they make it fun and easy to rinse off any chlorine or chemicals from the pool and create an inviting water feature to watch while relaxing in your pool.
If you entertain mostly adults and enjoy gathering by the pool with food and drinks, you may want to consider having a swim-up bar and underwater stools installed. It’s a great addition that all of your friends and family can enjoy, especially on hot days when they may not want to leave the cool, refreshing water. Swim-up bars can be customized to fit any backyard landscape, making it look like it belongs perfectly with your pool and yard. If you don’t have the budget to have one installed, there are floating bars, coolers, and drink holders you can purchase that will do the job.
